I am so excited to share my first blog post with you! Scroll down to read more about my inspiration for this new endeavor and details on my favorite coffee shop!

My very first review!

Hey readers! I am so excited to share my blog with you all! My inspiration for this project began with my love for writing. In high school, writing was always a passion of mine, but I haven't pursued it since, as I am studying musical theatre at the University of Oklahoma (yep, as you may of guessed, training for broadway doesn't consist of many essay assignments). So, I wanted to find a way to combine 2 areas I am passionate about and share them with you guys here- writing and (of course) coffee. And thus, hannah's hunt was born.

My goal for this blog is to inform and inspire you to not only get the best bang for your buck on a cup-a-joe, but also to share some aspects of my life as a performer. The life of a musical theatre major is not only extremely busy, but also very unpredictable. Whether you do theatre or not, I hope my story inspires you on your journey, whatever it may be.

I'm thrilled to begin this new artistic outlet, not only because it will be fun for me, but my ultimate goal is that it will be fulfilling for you. So sit back, fill up your favorite mug, and let's starting hunt-ing for the world's best cups of coffee- and maybe learn some more about ourselves along the way.

Aspen Coffee!

For my first review, I thought it would only be fitting to share my favorite coffee shop, Aspen Coffee, with you. This coffee shop originated in Stillwater, OK with 3 locations. There are also 2 locations in Edmond, OK.

A big factor for me when it comes to coffee shops, is aesthetic- that sounds cringe I know, but who wants to relax, study, or chat with friends when the atmosphere isn't helpful? All that being said, Aspen has the ideal situation with large windows, community tables, and warm lighting. I spent most of my high school career studying or meeting up with friends at Aspen, and this coffee shop is the perfect environment for both.

Okay, now we're at the most important part of our hunt- knowing which drinks to order! To be completely honest, I don't think you can really go wrong here, but I'm about to share with you some MUST-TRY's.

1. The Granita.

-This is Aspen's signature drink. It is basically a frap, but better. Trust me. It consists of espresso, milk, and sugar all blended up into a frozen heaven. (Fun fact: the Granita became so popular, that Aspen has Granita machines now, which means no wait on your drink!)

-You can also spice up your Granita by adding a flavor shot. I would suggest the Irish cream. (You can simplify this order by asking for the "Nutty Irishman").

2. The Blended Chai.

-Ya'll. This is one of the most refreshing drinks, literally EVER. The blended chai is exactly what it sounds like- an iced chai latte blended up (as you can see, Aspen really has their frozen drinks down). It's also not too sweet or too bitter.

-You can add a shot of espresso if you're needing an extra pick me up; although, the drink does contain a small amount of caffeine on its own.

3. The Iced Coffee (venti's only of course).

-This is my go-to, every day drink from Aspen. Best of all, this drink is only $2.98! Their iced coffee has a really nice flavor and is very smooth. I typically order a venti (i swear you guys, they taste better!!!) with a splash of almond milk and it never disappoints. Oh, I am dairy-free now, so I modify my drinks with either almond or oat milk.

-Don't confuse this drink with Aspen's cold brew. Although I mentioned earlier there's no wrong drink choice here, the cold brew is probably my least favorite drink on the menu. It is much stronger/more bitter than the iced coffee, which some people prefer!

Those are my 3 go-to drinks from Aspen Coffee and I would encourage you to try all of them! Of course, there are so many other wonderful options, but these 3 stand out in comparison to other coffee shops. They also serve food, including breakfast sandwiches/burritos (SO YUM), salads, wraps, and a large assortment of pastries. You can't go wrong with Aspen. It has quality products, amazing prices, and of course, a great aesthetic.

Let me know what your favorite drinks are from Aspen! I guarantee one of the 3 I mentioned will work its way into your top favs if you are a regular Aspen customer. If you've never been, Aspen is a 10 on the MUST GO list (I just made that number up, but you get the point). I would love to hear about your experience- happy hunt-ing! ;)
